Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization whose mission is to build affordable and simple homes to address the poverty issue in America today. When volunteering for this organization, I sanded and painted three rooms. We worked for five straight hours on a Saturday morning, and it was very beneficial. I feel like I learned the importance of community service and helping the less fortunate. It helped me realize how blessed I am to be where I am with all I have. Even something as simple as painting a room contributes to someone getting a home that possibly had nowhere to live.
